Role Description

The Fire Suppression Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort McMurray, AB. This role is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire suppression systems and related life safety equipment in industrial and fleet environments. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections of fire extinguishers and suppression systems, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety codes and company standards. The technician will troubleshoot system issues, respond to service calls, and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to support safe work sites. The role also involves educating site personnel on basic fire safety practices,



maintaining accurate service records, and following all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers, including installation, inspection, and maintenance.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of fire safety and life safety practices, including relevant codes, standards, and safe work procedures.
- Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills for mechanical and basic electrical components within fire suppression and safety systems.
- Candidates should possess the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, system diagrams, and inspection reports.
- Relevant certifications in fire suppression, fire extinguisher service, or life safety systems are an asset.
- Previous experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments is preferred.
- Ability to work in office in varying weather conditions, lift and move equipment as required, and follow all safety protocols.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record suitable for site and fleet access.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable time management, and effective communication skills with team members and clients.
