Job Summary

PetSmart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) engages with pet parents and their pets to provide positive experiences and salon services, while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. The role also supports store cleanliness, recommends solutions for pet parents, and maintains pet safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

- Complete PetSmart’s Splash training and safety certification program.
- Manage the pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
- Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
- Handle check-in and check-out procedures.
- Independently perform the full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) per PetSmart bathing standards.
- Share health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on pet needs.
- Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
- Take immediate action if a sick or injured pet is identified; arrange veterinary transport as needed.
- Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
- Maintain store cleanliness standards and assist in other departments as required.
- Participate in the culture of Belonging and Recognition and follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain composure.




- Flexibility in schedule (evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

- Stand, walk, climb ladders, and use hands to handle, feel, and write. May require reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing. Vision requirements include depth perception. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; team lifts may exceed 100 pounds.
- Exposure to a wet environment with pet hair, moving parts, live animals, and varying noise levels.
