Responsibilities

Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Modelers!

- Create and build computer generated 3D models for assigned story elements and designs.
- Prepare and build models for characters and stand-ins for layout.
- Develop prop elements for effects.
- Create environmental sets and structures.
- May focus on developing technical drawings for model productions.
- Write, maintain and run Makefiles, scripts and model databases.
- Meet productivity and quota targets.
- Develop models for multiple types of productions from simple to moderately difficult.
- Meet schedules and show deadlines; participate in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress.
- Interact with production, supervisors and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.
- Decipher and follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes and feedback.
- Work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine the various design solutions.

Qualifications

- Knowledge of Maya,



Mudbox/ZBrush, 3D Coat/TopoGun/Paraform; Linux and scripting ability in MEL, Perl and Python is a plus.
- Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate; minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.

Compensation and Perks

The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $26.44 to $36.32/hr and for an Intermediate position is $32.02 to $43.99/hr. The actual base salary offered will depend on qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
