This role reports to The Fitness & Wellness Coordinator.
SUMMARY
Personal Trainers are responsible for instructing clients and ensuring protected and proper use of fitness equipment. This role will be required to develop, document and implement one to one, partner or small group workout programs that meet the needs of the clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide personal training services and individualized workout programs based on client needs and goals.
- Conduct fitness assessments as required
- Educate clients on how to use fitness equipment and perform exercises and ensure their safety during session.
- Provide instruction and exercise modifications as necessary
- Develop and present fitness related workshops as required
- Attends staff meetings and training as required
- Reports accidents to the appropriate supervisor and fills out incident reports as required
- Adheres to KPU Sport & Recreation Code of Conduct 9. Other duties are necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year minimum of personal training experience
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED
- Valid Personal Training Certificate (BCRPA, ACE, ACSM or Equivalent)
- Additional certifications an asset
- Must be insurable as a Personal Trainer
- Must have a good understanding of anatomy and exercise modifications for the general population
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse community
- Must be personable, vibrant and outgoing
- Must have access to regular email and phone communication
SALARY INFORMATION
Anticipated hourly rate: $29.00 - $38.00
