Job Summary

As a Patrol Lead at Sasquatch Mountain Resort, you support the Patrol Director by helping guide the day-to-day operations of the Mountain Safety team. Your key responsibilities include mentoring patrollers,



coordinating daily assignments, and leading by example in delivering top-tier guest safety, first aid response, and slope risk management. You are an experienced leader who thrives in the alpine environment, maintaining professionalism and calm under pressure. This role contributes to the overall resort success by fostering safety, teamwork, and community — helping us create an inclusive experience united by adventure and empowered by community.

Wage: Based on experience and certifications

Schedule: Full Time – including weekends and holidays

Skill Level: Advanced – leadership experience and industry certifications required

Reports to: Patrol Director

Job Responsibilities

- Support the Patrol Director with daily team operations and leadership
- Assign daily patroller tasks and ensure coverage across terrain
- Mentor and support patrollers with skill development and situational guidance
- Coordinate emergency responses and communicate effectively with dispatch, lift ops, and ski patrol
- Ensure patrollers follow safety protocols, emergency procedures, and guest service standards
- Act as point of contact for incidents and first aid reports when Director is off‑shift
- Assist with mountain dispatch, accident investigations, and documentation
- Monitor weather,



slope safety, and snowpack conditions; assist with avalanche control when certified
- Operate snowmobiles and toboggans safely and confidently
- Oversee daily safety checks of signage, boundaries, and hazard zones
- Uphold and educate staff and guests on the Alpine Responsibility Code
- Assist with team training pre‑season and ongoing throughout winter
- Maintain clinic cleanliness, inventory, and documentation standards
- Perform physical duties including snow work, first aid response, and evacuation support
- Foster teamwork, professionalism, and open communication within the patrol team
- Practice and model safe work procedures
- Other duties as assigned by Patrol Director

Job Requirements

- OFA Level 3, OEC, or equivalent advanced first aid certification (required)
- Intermediate to advanced alpine skier or snowboarder in all snow and terrain conditions
- Minimum 2 seasons of patrol experience, with prior team leadership preferred
- Avalanche Operations Level 1 an asset
- Previous snowmobile and toboggan handling experience strongly preferred
- High level of physical fitness and comfort working outdoors in alpine environments
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to make calm, sound decisions in emergency situations
- Organized, reliable, and confident in record‑keeping and dispatch procedures
- Willingness to cross‑train and support resort departments as needed
- Commitment to teamwork, guest service, and safety in every situation
- Must be able to work all weekends and holiday peak periods
