Lead the Nova Scotia Health Emergency Preparedness team as a Manager focused on program development and implementation. This permanent full-time role aims to enhance health crisis response and engage staff across the province.
Reporting to the Provincial Director, the Manager of Emergency Preparedness is crucial for developing, implementing, and evaluating the Emergency Preparedness Program. You will collaborate with leaders, physicians, and staff to ensure effective participation in a comprehensive emergency preparedness strategy. This role will focus on areas including business continuity and pandemic planning, greatly impacting the Northern Zone’s operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the Emergency Preparedness Program
• Implement incident management and duty officer systems
• Facilitate risk assessment and emergency training
• Oversee business continuity and pandemic preparedness
• Evaluate emergency response plans and training programs
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years leadership experience in emergency management
• Certification as Emergency Manager (CEM/AEM) required
• Solid analytical and organizational skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
