Operations Analyst I (Proxy Voting / ESG Focus)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – Tues to Thurs in office)
Contract Duration: July 7, 2026 – December 31, 2026 (extension possible)
Pay Rate: Up to $28.50/hour + 4% vacation pay
About the Role
We are seeking an Operations Analyst I to support end‑to‑end proxy voting operations while contributing to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and corporate governance initiatives. This role blends operational execution, data analysis, and process improvement within a collaborative and fast‑paced environment.
You will work closely with global stakeholders and gain hands‑on experience with data analytics and automation tools (Power BI, Power Platform).
Key Responsibilities
Proxy Voting Operations
- Support the full proxy voting lifecycle: monitoring, reconciliation, and execution
- Execute proxy votes on third‑party platforms within strict deadlines
- Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting and regulatory filings
- Coordinate with internal teams, custodians, and external vendors
- Track milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support reporting using Excel, Power BI, and related tools
- Contribute to workflow improvements and automation initiatives (Power Platform)
- Maintain documentation and support process standardization
ESG & Governance Support
- Assist with ESG stewardship and corporate governance activities
- Support review of proxy ballot items aligned with internal guidelines
- Maintain data for stewardship reporting and regulatory requirements
- Help analyze voting trends and industry practices
What You’ll Bring
Must‑Have Skills
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, data analysis; Power Query/VBA exposure a plus)
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and process improvement
- Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint
Soft Skills
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
Nice‑to‑Have
- Knowledge of proxy voting, ESG, or corporate governance
- Experience in asset management or investment operations
- Exposure to automation tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Agile environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- ~2 years of relevant experience in investment operations, data analysis, or similar roles
- ESG or governance‑related coursework/certification is an asset
