Make a meaningful impact as a Youth Support Worker with Positive Shepherd, providing vital support to at-risk youth aged 16-21. This role focuses on personal counseling, crisis intervention, and life skills training.
The position is based in the Good Shepherd Notre Dame House, where you will empower youth experiencing homelessness. You will engage in assessment and planning while providing education and advocacy. Your focus on community development will help clients achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage primary cases and develop community programs
• Provide supportive counseling and advocacy for clients
• Teach life skills such as cooking and budgeting
• Conduct assessments and intervention planning for youth
• Participate in health and safety programs and compliance
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in social services or related field
• Experience working with youth, preferably in residential settings
• CPR certification or willingness to complete training
• Commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices
• Fluency in French or additional language preferred
