Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for Excavator Operators located in Atikokan, ON. The Excavator Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy excavation equipment to move earth, rock, and other materials according to project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include digging trenches and pits, loading trucks, grading surfaces, and assisting with site preparation and backfilling. The role involves conducting routine pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, reporting any mechanical issues, and supporting basic maintenance activities.



The operator will work closely with site supervisors and other crew members to follow project plans, comply with safety protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated skills in Equipment Operation and Heavy Equipment handling for mining or construction environments.
- Practical experience with Excavation and Trench work, including digging, backfilling, and grading to specification.
- liability to perform basic equipment maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, and reporting mechanical concerns.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to site procedures and use of personal protective equipment.
- Relevant certifications or licenses for heavy equipment operation as required by local regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a diverse crew.
- Previous experience in mining, construction, or related fields is an asset.
