The prairies are calling! We are looking for a pharmacist who would like to provide an exceptional medication experience to patients as part of Hanna Hospital Pharmacy team. Hanna Hospital supports 17 acute care beds focused on rural general medicine and a 61-bed long term care. The pharmacy team provides distribution and clinical services to acute care, LTC, and emergency patients, and provides remote coverage support for sites in Central Zone. The supportive, multidisciplinary environment gives pharmacists the opportunity to collaborate with a team of pharmacy technicians working at full scope to focus on clinical activities.

Description

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. You will provide assessment, intervention, and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications

- Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Current,



provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.

Additional Required Qualifications

- Pharmacy related experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care providing comprehensive medication management services.
- Recent experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Experience with computerized medication order entry and different drug distribution systems, such as unit dose.

Preferred Qualifications

- Additional Prescribing Authorization or expected to obtain it within 6 months of commencing.
- Demonstrated self-directed learning and continuing education.
- Demonstrated good time management including ability to switch priorities and multitask.
- Demonstrated excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated; able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team setting.
- Rural hospital experience.
