Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support the development and deployment of next‑generation AI‑powered products. The role involves architecting, building, and maintaining production‑grade test infrastructure and automation frameworks to ensure the reliability and performance of our cloud platform. This includes writing maintainable test code, CI/CD pipelines, and validation systems that serve as critical engineering infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesArchitect and build reusable test frameworks and libraries that serve as shared infrastructure across teamsDesign and implement testing SDKs and tools that enable other engineers to write better tests fasterContribute to the product codebase by improving testability, instrumentation, and observabilityConduct code reviews for test automation pull requests, ensuring best practices and maintainabilityApply software engineering principles (design patterns, SOLID) to test automation architectureDefine and maintain an automation roadmap aligned with team goals and product evolutionAct as a subject‑matter expert in test strategy and tooling within your domainMentor and coach other SDETs or SWEs on quality engineering best practicesEngineer end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines, including build orchestration, deployment automation, and infrastructure‑as‑code for test environmentsValidate deployments across multiple cloud environmentsWork closely with development to improve the quality of the productQualifications5+ years of experience in software development focused on quality engineering with a strong focus on cloud automationStrong software engineering skills, including proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#, Java) and experience with object‑oriented design, clean code, version control (Git), and software architecture principlesExperience building production‑quality automation frameworks, testing libraries,
or developer tools from scratchStrong understanding of software architecture, APIs, SDKs, and system integration testing, with hands‑on experience designing and implementing APIs for test frameworksFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑based testing environmentsExcellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and collaboration skillsNice‑to‑Have SkillsFamiliarity with testing LLM‑powered applications and agentic systemsExperience with infrastructure‑as‑code (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation)Familiarity with software design patterns and refactoring techniquesBackground in distributed systems or cloud architectureKnowledge of observability patterns (structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics instrumentation)Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Grafana, DataDog, CloudWatch)Experience with BDD and contract testing (Pact)Familiarity with AWS services (S3, DynamoDB, OpenSearch)Exposure to security testing, performance testing, and regression strategiesKnowledge of Docker containersCompensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary: $125,000 – $175,000 (CDN).
