Become a vital part of Red Door as a Shelter Support Worker, maintaining a secure and supportive workplace. This full-time role involves case management and crisis intervention for residents in need.
Under the guidance of the Program Manager, you will facilitate emergency intake, provide ongoing support, and help residents transition back into the community. Your responsibilities include behaviour management, advocating for community services, and ensuring shelter compliance. Shifts alternate weekly between day and evening hours, allowing for flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct emergency intake and orientation for new residents
• Manage daily feedback and support for resident action plans
• Collaborate with Shelter and Outreach staff for client needs
• Enforce house rules through scheduled checks
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the shelter
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field required
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in support services
• Knowledge of the social service system in Toronto
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts effectively
• Initiative and reliability as a team member
