Job Overview

Performs construction, maintenance, and repair of Namerind properties, grounds, and equipment to maximize occupancy. Adheres to regulatory and legislated provisions, including safety regulations, and Namerind standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Performs construction, maintenance, and repair work including, but not limited to, drywalling, tiling, hanging doors, repairing stairs, siding, shingling, installing sub‑floors, lock systems, etc.
- Determines and recommends materials, equipment, and supplies needed; purchases/orders materials; ensures inventory maintained.
- Operates and maintains tools and equipment (e.g., chainsaws, drills, levels, compressors, nailers, ladders, etc.).
- Follows through on daily work orders and priorities; submits reports on status of work performed; identifies issues requiring follow‑up.
- Identifies and communicates electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other required contractor work.
- Inspects work performed by other staff on‑site and/or contractors; follows up accordingly.
- Ensures all laws, regulations, policies,



and procedures are followed; ensures safety program and related goals are carried out.
- Identifies hazardous materials and correctly handles/disposes.
- Responds to tenant concerns / emergency calls 24/7.
- Performs fire inspections and other property inspections as required.

Qualifications

A Journeyperson certificate in carpentry and related experience is required along with a valid driver’s license and own hand tools. Knowledge and ability to communicate well (verbal/written); reading and comprehension; basic math skills; must understand and apply legislation related to the construction industry, by‑laws, safety, etc., and have the ability to safely perform all physical aspects of the role (e.g., lift, climb, move, carry, heights, confined space, etc., and safely operate hand and power tools).
