Join School District No. 60 as a Learning Assistance Teacher to support diverse elementary learners at Alwin Holland Elementary. Your role focuses on academic and emotional growth through collaborative teaching strategies.
This part time, temporary assignment begins September 1, 2026, lasting until the incumbent’s return or June 30, 2027. Candidates must hold a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate and demonstrate experience with differentiation and Social Emotional Learning. Building a caring classroom community is essential for this inclusive role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and enhance IEPs and individualized student plans
• Employ classroom management that respects student dignity
• Collaborate with educators to boost student success




• Adapt and plan lessons aligned with BC Curriculum
• Create an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Requirements:
• Current BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility
• Proven experience with children with special needs
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with assessment practices promoting learning
• Passion for inclusive education and student potential
