The salary range for this position is CAD $43.24 - $54.01 per hour.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Radiological Technologist, CT/General Procedures at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre.
Education, Training and Experience
- Certification with the CAMRT.
- Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography and at least one (1) year of recent, related experience in radiology procedures, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

Responsibilities
- Operates computerized tomography and radiographic equipment; performs examinations in CT and radiography in accordance with department protocols.
- Completes requisitions, lab forms, and related paperwork; ensures correct patient identification and clinical history is recorded.
- Prepares patients and sets up trays for specific procedures; performs venipuncture for contrast media injections as directed.
- Monitors patients during procedures, responds to contrast media reactions or emergent situations, and performs CPR if required.
- Processes and archives acquired data; enters information into the radiology information system.
- Performs quality control duties, including equipment tests and troubleshooting; reports issues to the supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and supplies; cleans equipment and orders replacements as needed.
- Demonstrates equipment usage to residents, technologists and students; participates in orientation of new employees and supervision of students.
- Coordinates workflow within the designated area, arranging porters and ensuring requisitions meet standards.
- Adhering to health and safety rules, including Fire, WHMIS, Smart Moves and Infection Control; reports unsafe conditions.
- Participates in quality improvement, protocol development and research projects as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners (CAMRT).
- Knowledge of evidence‑based practice for CT and general radiography.
- Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care; safe work procedures with modality equipment.
- Current knowledge of General Radiography and CT theory and practices.
- Experience with PACS and radiology information systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload in collaboration with team members.
- Proficiency in CPR techniques.
- Computer skills with current applications.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
