Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused, and results‑driven National Food Service Sales Representative to join our growing Sales team. Reporting to the MS National Sales Department Manager – Mainstream Food Service, you will be responsible for managing and expanding existing customer accounts while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities within the local food service market.
By combining strong relationship management with proactive business development, you will play a key role in achieving sales targets, increasing market presence, and building long‑term customer partnerships.
This position requires regular local travel to meet with customers, conduct site visits, and attend industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and relationship building within the food service industry.
- Grow existing customer accounts by expanding product listings, increasing sales volume, and identifying cross‑selling opportunities.
- Analyze customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity to identify sales opportunities and recommend value‑added solutions.
- Achieve sales targets while maintaining profitable margins in alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with internal Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to support forecasting, inventory planning, and product availability.
- Deliver product presentations and provide tailored product recommendations based on customers’ operational needs and business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with customers by providing professional, responsive, and solution‑oriented service.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and account information in accordance with company requirements.
- Represent the Company professionally at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as required.
Working Hours
- This is a full‑time position with a regular work schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Local travel is required to visit customers and participate in meetings, trade shows, and other industry events.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support customer activities and other business requirements, in accordance with Company policies and applicable employment standards legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of sales experience in the food service industry, preferably selling to restaurants, food service operators, or food distributors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business while managing and growing existing customer accounts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑management skills.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and proactive with a strong customer service mindset.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organisational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry product samples or cases weighing up to 20 kg.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation with the ability to travel locally on a regular basis.
Assets / Nice‑to‑Haves
- Knowledge of food products and the food service industry.
- Previous B2B sales, merchandising, or account management experience within the food sector.
- French language proficiency, which may support communication with a diverse customer base. All qualified candidates will be considered regardless of language ability.
- Expected Gross Monthly Wage: $3,455 to $4,578
- Disclosure Statements: Pay for this position includes sales bonus and actual earnings will be based on individual performance. Please ask the recruiter for details regarding base pay and sales bonus.
