Join the team as a Mechanic with the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education located in Truro. This full time licensed position focuses on the mechanical upkeep of vehicles for the Cobequid Family of Schools.
The successful candidate must possess a Nova Scotia Truck and Transport Mechanic Certificate or be enrolled in a relevant apprenticeship. With a minimum of three years in the field, preferably in educational settings, you will be expected to manage repairs with efficiency and safety in mind. Strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to continuous safety training are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and repair all school buses and transport vehicles
• Implement effective troubleshooting using diagnostic systems




• Work independently while adhering to safety guidelines
• Collaborate as part of the maintenance team
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintain records
Requirements:
• Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License Class 2 or higher
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in the trade
• Willingness for safety training
• Computer competency is a plus
