About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Legal to establish and lead its legal function. This pivotal role involves building the legal framework, governance, and risk-management capabilities to support the company's long-term growth and innovation. The successful candidate will oversee a wide range of legal responsibilities, including commercial agreements, intellectual property, corporate governance, compliance, and risk management. They will be instrumental in supporting strategic partnerships, licensing arrangements, and ensuring the protection of the company's innovations. The Head of Legal will work closely with the executive team and the Board, providing pragmatic legal counsel that aligns with commercial objectives and effectively manages legal risk.
The ideal candidate for the Head of Legal position at the company will have a law degree, be a member in valuable standing of a recognized legal bar or law society, and have a proven track record of advising executive teams through periods of growth and complexity. Experience in supporting venture-backed companies, intellectual property-intensive businesses, and innovation-driven organizations is highly valued. The role requires a leader who is a natural builder, thrives in entrepreneurial environments, and is comfortable with ambiguity. Bilingualism is considered an asset, and the candidate should be adept at creating structure and serving as a trusted advisor on critical legal matters.
