Process and administer accurate payroll for employees while ensuring timely remittances. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies.

Main Duties
- Prepare and process regular and off-cycle payroll runs, including calculation of hours, overtime, statutory holiday pay, and retroactive adjustments.
- Calculate and apply statutory and voluntary deductions, prepare remittances for taxes, benefits, and garnishments, and ensure timely submission to authorities and providers.
- Maintain and reconcile payroll records and accounts, prepare payroll journal entries, and assist with month‑end and year‑end reconciliations.
- Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management and accounting, including payroll cost allocations and accruals.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and employment earnings, and liaise with human resources to implement changes in wages or status.
- Support preparation of year‑end tax documents and filings, update payroll policies and procedures, and ensure confidentiality and compliance with legislation.
Requirements
- Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in payroll administration, accounting, finance, or related field,
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years experience processing payroll using computerized payroll systems.
- Working knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation, statutory deductions, remittances, and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll software and spreadsheet applications, including advanced functions in Excel.
- Solid numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines for multiple payroll cycles.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and maintain accurate records.
