Overview The Engineering Services group in Sudbury, ON provides mechanical and electrical design for a wide range of buildings, including hospitals, long‑term care facilities, universities, colleges, institutional, recreational, commercial, light industrial, and multi‑residential markets. Our team works collaboratively to meet client requirements and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Supervise electrical design staff, assign technical tasks, provide guidance and feedback, and ensure staff competence and professional growth.

Manage all phases of electrical design projects—planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, and execution—to ensure timely and successful completion.

Provide expert recommendations and technical support for design reviews, strategic plans, and projects, and establish technical standards for documentation and designs.

Allocate resources, manage departmental budgets, forecast costs, and ensure the availability of affordable and reliable materials.

Consult with clients and stakeholders, prepare proposals and technical reports, and coordinate with other departments and regulatory agencies to achieve project goals.

Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures to streamline operations, ensure compliance with safety guidelines, and improve product quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (registration in other provinces is an asset).

Ability to obtain CAPM/PMP designation.

Minimum 15 years of experience in building systems engineering, preferably for educational, health‑care, office, municipal infrastructure, and commercial facilities,



with knowledge of relevant codes (OBC, NBC, CEC/OESC, ASHRAE 90.1, CSA Standards such as C282, Z32, Z317.5, B44, ULC‑S524, and S537).

Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Revit and MicroStation is an asset.

Dexterity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

In‑depth knowledge of electrical design, project management, budget management, and resource allocation.

Experience supervising, mentoring, and motivating a team of engineers and designers.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for managing teams and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
