The Redevelopment and Planning Team at SHN prides itself with our unique team approach where members are equally responsible for project success and work collaboratively rather than in silos. Everyone is accountable for the end result, not just their individual tasks. The Senior Project Manager will be part of a construction project management and planning team that drives projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with budget, schedule, and quality standards.



This role will be responsible for leading the implementation of SHN's redevelopment higher-stakes, complex projects across the hospital network with a focus on strategy, risk mitigation, and mentoring. The Senior Project Manager provides leadership by directing work teams, contractors and consultants to ensure accountability and performance. The Senior Project Manager will work collaboratively with the planning team to ensure there is no gap between capital construction and clinical operations, resulting in new or renovated facilities that are functional, protected, and efficient upon opening. The planning team will work in collaboration with the Senior Project Manager on all projects with a focus on translating design into clinical workflows, managing space readiness and utilization to ensure smooth transitions, and optimizing patient flow within the new and renovated infrastructure.

The incumbent is expected to contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff and others, working in compliance with the hospital code of conduct and the provisions of health and safety policies and legislation, utilizes protective equipment provided and identifies and reports hazards.

Responsibilities

- Supports the planning and implementation of new facilities, larger renovation projects,



and/or a portfolio of smaller projects from the initial planning and design stages through to implementation and completion in collaboration with the planning team
- Provides support by conveying policies and priorities, directing work and ensuring issues are resolved or escalated to appropriate level(s) to meet project deliverables and timelines.
- Establishes project team structure by gathering input from stakeholders, identifying needs and skills required; directs and supervises assigned staff by assigning work, orientating staff, developing and implementing appropriate staff development and retention plans
- Establishes effective communications channels to ensure stakeholders are fully engaged and aware of project status; provides frequent clear and concise reports to Redevelopment and Planning leadership regarding ongoing issues, progress updates, challenges and opportunities
- Carries out project plans according to established Redevelopment project methodologies and systems to ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components by facilitating consensus with stakeholders. Monitors project charter, plans, budget, scope, schedule, expenditures, client satisfaction and risks; reports on variances and impacts to deliverables, and makes recommendations to Redevelopment leadership to mitigate cost overruns, maintain adherence to allocated budgets and timelines, and ensure delivery of a successful project.
