Position Overview

Experience

- Previous experience working with the elderly or volunteer work with the elderly is desirable.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

- Must have grade 12 or equivalent.
- A degree or certificate in recreational activities or physical education would be an asset.

Qualifications and Skills

- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
- Ability to work independently as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to exercise skilled judgement, initiative and discretion.

Physical Requirements

- Possible heavy lifting at times.
- Possible posture and muscle problems.




- Possible contact with clients/patients with aggressive behaviour.
- Other demands as it pertains to position.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
- Extreme outside weather conditions.
- Competing priorities.
- High level of stress at times.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
