About the project

"Bloodlight" is a gothic vampire music video about a woman who destroys the vampire who made her, only to discover that killing him has not freed her from what he conditioned her to believe. Told through dark fantasy, portraiture, ritual, water, and blood-red imagery, the story explores psychological control, harm disguised as devotion, and the emotional aftermath of an abusive relationship. This is a highly visual, performance-driven production with little to no dialogue. Robust facial expression, physical presence, and the ability to communicate complex emotions non-verbally are essential.

Rate

Volunteer/unpaid. Meals, craft services, screen credit, and a copy of the completed music video will be provided.



The finished project is intended for film-festival submission.

Location

Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland, BC.

Shoot Dates

August 16-17, 2026.

Additional information

The production includes gothic imagery, theatrical blood, vampire biting, a simulated staking, representations of coercive control, and themes relating to emotional and psychological abuse. All physical contact will be discussed in advance and performed according to established boundaries. Exact locations, call times, wardrobe information, and transportation details will be shared with selected performers.
