Shape patient experiences at CancerCare Manitoba as a Patient & Family Educator, specializing in breast cancer. Engage with patients through education and resource support across their cancer journey.
In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Program Manager and utilize a person-centred approach to assist patients and families. Your work will encompass the entire cancer continuum, ensuring that individuals receive the support needed from diagnosis to survivorship. Working with healthcare professionals and community partners is essential for promoting effective cancer educational strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver education to patients and families affected by cancer
• Guide families through the healthcare system
• Promote informed treatment decision-making
• Collaborate with health care teams for comprehensive care
• Spearhead community outreach for cancer education initiatives
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
• Minimum 3 years of recent oncology nursing experience
• Registered or eligible for registration with C.R.N.M.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of healthcare equity principles
