This position has a term length of one year plus one day from the date of hire.

Location - This role is in‑person. Work primarily takes place at University of Alberta campuses across Edmonton.

The Locksmith is required by law to be security‑audited and registered with Alberta Justice and the Solicitor General. This position is charged with the responsibility of providing a safe and secure workplace for the University community at large. The Journeyperson locksmith provides continuous service (including the participation in standby on a rotating basis) ensuring that all emergency situations such as lost or stolen keys, break‑ins, insecure doors, vandalism, etc., are dealt with in a timely manner. In addition to providing these services, it is the responsibility of the locksmith to manage and maintain a high security keying system for private organizations affiliated with the University of Alberta.
