Take on a vital maintenance role at the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation as a Utility Maintenance Worker II for ice rinks. This position emphasizes operational maintenance, janitorial cleanliness, and equipment service in Olympic venues.
In this auxiliary role, candidates will ensure optimal rink conditions by performing operational tasks and routine cleaning. You must be ready to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, across several park locations. Your involvement will enhance the maintenance of ice surfaces and overall facility safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate refrigeration plants and ensure ice surface quality
• Conduct janitorial services including cleaning and stocking supplies
• Collect refuse and maintain sanitation across facilities




• Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines in all tasks
Requirements:
• Relevant certification in Building Service Work required
• Technical Safety BC Ice Facility Operator Certificate necessary
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License required in British Columbia
• In-depth knowledge of recreation facility maintenance
• Physical capability for multifaceted maintenance tasks
