Position: Pastry Chef

Location: Albreda Lodge, Blue River, BC

Job Type: Full‑Time, Seasonal

Reports To: Head Chef & Lodge Manager

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. This dual‑role position is responsible for overseeing the pastry program and supporting overall kitchen operations. You'll prepare high‑quality baked goods and desserts, contribute to menu planning, and ensure a clean, efficient kitchen environment. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, semi‑remote setting and values teamwork, creativity, and excellence.

Responsibilities

- Prepare baked goods, breads, and desserts for up to 30 guests and staff.
- Lend a hand to kitchen service operations as required.
- Collaborate with kitchen team to create on‑site and off‑site heli lunch offerings.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety across the kitchen.
- Assist with menu planning and inventory management.
- Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation.




- Maintain kitchen equipment and recommend replacements as needed.
- Uphold health and safety regulations (Food Safe, WHMIS).
- Attend lodge and kitchen meetings and participate in emergency response planning.
- Foster a positive, team‑oriented kitchen culture.

Qualifications

- Culinary and pastry diploma or certificate preferred.
- Red Seal Chef designation is an asset.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Supervisory experience and ability to lead a team.
- Knowledge of Food Safe, WHMIS, and First Aid.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including split shifts when needed.

Working Conditions

- 10 hours a day, 6 days a week; daily rate includes overtime as per Employment Standards.
- Long hours, split shifts, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs regularly.
- Exposure to high kitchen temperatures and occasional cold/wet environments.

Compensation

Starting at $265.00 per day based on experience and qualifications.
