About the Role
The Company is in search of a President & CEO to serve as the chief advocate and public voice of the Association. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the organization's advocacy and industry engagement, particularly during a time of significant geopolitical and trade uncertainty. This role involves representing the interests of the steel industry, which is a critical sector for the Canadian economy and national security, with governments, industry leaders, and key partners across Canada and North America. The President & CEO will work closely with a Board of Directors and a small,
high-performing team to build alignment and advance a clear industry agenda on various issues, including trade policy, industrial strategy, and manufacturing competitiveness.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a credible and influential leader with strong government relations and advocacy experience, preferably within an industry, trade association, government, or a similar complex stakeholder workplace. Experience in areas such as trade policy, industrial strategy, manufacturing competitiveness, or North American market dynamics is highly valued. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future competitiveness and strategic direction of the steel industry in Canada, and the role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively navigate the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
