Embrace a pivotal role as a Psychedelic Therapist at the University of Calgary, focusing on research for alcohol use disorder treatments. This hourly position involves hands-on therapy using psychedelic compounds under clinical trial protocols.
As part of the Department of Psychiatry, you will be responsible for conducting psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy sessions that follow rigorous research guidelines. Adaptability is key, as you'll work flexible schedule to suit participant needs while ensuring thorough documentation of all interactions and findings. Additionally, you will build supportive relationships with participants prior to their sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate psychotherapy based on established protocols
• Educate participants on substances and therapy expectations
• Build rapport through preparatory sessions lasting up to 8 hours
• Support patients during drug administration sessions
• Document clinical care accurately and in adherence to protocols
Requirements:
• MSc or PhD in applicable fields required
• Registration with regulatory bodies necessary
• 3-5 years of patient interaction experience required
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing preferred
• Excellent communication skills are vital
