Join NYWS as a Relief Children's Programmer to create enriching programs for children and youth. Focus on trauma-informed care and diverse activities that support emotional growth.
You will help implement educational and recreational activities tailored for children and youth with the guidance of Program Managers. This role requires fostering an inclusive workplace, recognizing diverse needs, and actively participating in children’s activities to promote development and self-esteem. Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure a supportive atmosphere for every child.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and facilitate engaging programs for children
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in activities
• Address challenging behaviors respectfully
• Maintain and organize program areas effectively
• Document incidents and program metrics
Requirements:
• Enrollment or completion of post-secondary education in a related field
• 2-3 years experience in relevant child-focused roles
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices
• Necessary CPR and First Aid certifications
• Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
