Heavy Duty Mechanic Position Summary

Provides timely, quality, cost effective maintenance for FedEx Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and documentation.

Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
- Have 3 years fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle maintenance experience.
- Automotive Service Technician or Truck & Coach Technician
- Completed vehicle apprentice program with certified diploma
- Must possess valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Working knowledge of the use and operation of all service garage equipment and testing equipment, gauges and tools normally associated with troubleshooting and repair of gasoline, diesel, and propane equipment.
- Basic electronic troubleshooting skills
- Possession of a complete set of hand tools including metric sizes.
- Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs, and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components above 70 lbs with the help of appropriate lifting mechanical assistance.
- Basic Inter/Intranet preferred, MS Office, Basic Word, Outlook preferred

Shift / Hours

4x10 shift (6 AM start time)
