Overview

The Server or Server Assistant will be responsible for providing high‑level guest service to all restaurant patrons by delivering prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. The Server will perform guest service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times, ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience.

Responsibilities

- Take food and beverage orders from guests and relay them to the appropriate kitchen or bar staff.
- Serve food and beverages in accordance with company standards while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
- Set and maintain tables in line with company policy, ensuring all items are clean, undamaged, and presentable.
- Change table linens and refill condiment sets as needed, and clean tables promptly after guests finish their meals.
- Handle guest charges, present the bill, and process payment in accordance with established procedures.
- Attend to guest complaints and resolve issues to the guests’ satisfaction.
- Participate in fire and evacuation drills and be familiar with all emergency exits.
- Provide on‑the‑job training to subordinate staff to ensure effective duty performance.
- Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress, and enforce the same for subordinate staff.




- Assist with general cleaning duties and ensure storerooms are stocked with needed supplies.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong service experience, thriving on engaging guests.
- 1–3 years of restaurant service experience considered an asset.
- Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills in a diverse environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Solid attention to detail.
- Diplomatic, tactful, and professional when dealing with people.
- Professional appearance and manners.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Working Conditions

- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lifting or moving up to 20 lbs may be required.
