Job Title: Senior Mainframe Technical Lead / Mainframe Migration Lead

Experience: 8+ Years

Location: Hybrid 3-4 days a week in Toronto office

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Technical Lead with a strong background in Mainframe application development, modernization, and database migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Mainframe technologies, proven leadership experience, and a successful track record of delivering complex Mainframe transformation and migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise Mainframe applications.
- Manage and mentor technical teams, providing direction, code reviews, and technical guidance.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of Mainframe projects, ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and budget requirements.
- Assess existing Mainframe environments and define modernization and migration strategies.
- Lead database migration initiatives including discovery, assessment, planning, execution, validation, and cutover activities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and vendors to define project scope and technical solutions.
- Conduct impact assessments, effort estimations, and risk analysis for migration and transformation projects.
- Ensure application performance, availability, security,



and compliance requirements are met.
- Support production deployments, issue resolution, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
- Participate in architecture reviews and recommend improvements for scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

- Proven experience leading technical teams and successfully delivering large‑scale Mainframe projects.
- Solid experience in Mainframe application assessment, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience executing complex database migration and data conversion projects.
- Experience in system integration, testing, and production implementation.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Hybrid delivery models.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer‑fac­ing communication skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with Mainframe modernization initiatives involving legacy modernization programs
