Lead Project Engineer – Energy & Process

Join WSP’s Energy & Process team within the ERI sector supporting projects across Canada and globally, from conventional energy to low‑carbon transition solutions. As a Lead Project Engineer you will guide complex energy projects from concept through detailed engineering, act as a key client interface, and drive multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

- Lead planning, scheduling, and estimation of engineering design activities from concept through construction‑ready deliverables
- Drive project success by identifying risks early and ensuring delivery across quality, schedule, and cost objectives
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing technical direction and aligning all deliverables
- Interpret project scope and specifications to ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, and WSP standards
- Oversee and approve engineering designs, maintaining quality assurance and consistency with project goals
- Serve as the primary technical interface with clients, providing guidance on complex engineering challenges
- Support execution through cost estimating, risk assessment, change management, and engineering documentation
- Mentor and develop engineers, strengthening technical capability and team performance

Qualifications

- Post‑graduate degree in Engineering
- P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation
- 10–15 years of EPCM experience in the energy industry, including 7–10 years in project engineering roles




- Proven experience leading projects and working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with the ability to act as a trusted client advisor
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and producing project reports
- Robust understanding of design optimization, risk management, and engineering best practices

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 - $162,800
MB & ON: $112,100 - $154,400
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 - $147,400
