Become a pivotal figure in the lives of residents at Homeward Bound Residence as a Residential Support Worker. This role is focused on providing essential support and supervision while promoting community reintegration for justice-involved men.
Located in Toronto, Ontario, Homeward Bound Residence is seeking dedicated relief Residential Support Workers. You will provide day-to-day counselling, ensuring a respectful workplace for those under community supervision orders. Essential skills include case management, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex situations with compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide shift-based support and supervision to residents
• Document significant interactions accurately in databases
• Maintain security and a supportive environment
• Conduct wellness and safety checks during overnight shifts
• Uphold professional boundaries and respect confidentiality
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Social Services or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience with mental health and addiction
• Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate required
• Crisis Prevention/De-escalation training preferred
• Must pass a criminal record check
