Work at CHEO in Ottawa as a Social Worker focusing on Neurodevelopmental Health with diverse families. Join a dedicated interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive assessment and care to children, youth, and families in a supportive setting.
Your role entails engaging with families to assess dynamics, strengths, and weaknesses. You will provide essential emotional support and counseling, participating actively in team rounds to address psychological and social needs. This position requires the delivery of psychotherapy and ongoing assessments, alongside discharge planning and service coordination. As an integral part of the team, you will lead the training of allied health professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess family dynamics and provide comprehensive evaluations
• Offer emotional support for trauma and crisis intervention
• Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds for treatment planning
• Deliver psychotherapy to individuals and families
• Supervise education for health professionals and students
Requirements:
• Master’s of Social Work degree required
• Minimum three years of experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Ontario College of Social Workers membership needed
• Bilingual in French and English is essential
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required
