Join Carrier Sekani Family Services as a Guardianship Social Worker in Burns Lake, BC. Promote the well-being of Indigenous youth by ensuring their cultural identity and family connections are prioritized.
This traveling position requires weekly visits to Burns Lake from nearby communities. You will play a vital role in supporting children through care placements and transitions while working closely with families and Indigenous partners. The focus is on delivering guardianship services that respect cultural values and fulfill community obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee tailored care plans for youth
• Provide support through permanency and life-skills planning
• Collaborate with caregivers and multidisciplinary teams




• Ensure children's rights are safeguarded in care
• Maintain cultural responsiveness in all service aspects
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in relevant Human Services area
• Experience with child welfare or family services preferred
• Ability to obtain C4 delegation under CFCSA
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license is mandatory
• Commitment to advocacy for Indigenous cultures
