About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for its Faculty of Health and Social Development. The successful candidate will be a visionary academic leader with a robust background in scholarship, teaching, and a proven track record of leading complex academic units. This role is pivotal in advancing the Faculty's mission to address pressing health and social challenges and will involve providing strategic, academic, and operational leadership, as well as fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and enhancing the quality and reach of educational programs. The Dean will be expected to have a clear vision for the future of health and social development education and research, with a commitment to innovation, interdisciplinarity, and community-engaged scholarship.
Applicants for the Dean position must be eligible for appointment as a Full Professor and have a distinguished record of academic and administrative experience. Essential qualifications include a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as experience in building and sustaining partnerships with various stakeholders, including health systems, community organizations, government, and Indigenous communities. The role requires a leader who can work in a collegial and inclusive manner, and who is dedicated to the values of the Faculty and the University. The Dean will play a key role in shaping the future of the Faculty and must be prepared to engage with the vibrant and rapidly growing campus community, which is deeply connected to the region and its partners.
