Position Summary

Temporary full‑time (1.0 FTE) Junior/ Senior High Mathematics Teacher at Matthew Halton High School, Pincher Creek, Alberta.

Contract commences on August 25, 2026 and ends on June 29, 2027.

Responsibilities

- Teach Alberta curriculum in junior and senior high mathematics.
- Develop and implement outcome‑based assessments and multiple forms of assessment such as portfolios and projects.

Qualifications

- Appropriate educational training and experience teaching the Alberta curricula.
- Strong understanding of outcomes‑based assessment practices.
- Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team.
- Commitment to building relationships with students to create a secure, caring and welcoming learning environment.
- Strong belief in parent involvement and communication,



including regular communication with home beyond the use of report cards.
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
- Experience working with an ethnically diverse group of students, including First Nations, Metis and Inuit students.
- Ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioural, emotional and/or curricular needs within the classroom setting.
- Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for same.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
