This is an interview position. To operate company vehicles and provide efficient delivery and pickup of packages while performing in a floating capacity for a minimum of 15 routes. To work as a courier but not on an assigned regular route. To model the way for hourly employees by becoming a mentor and demonstrating role model behaviour, including strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership ability through Best Practices methods. Promotes continued sales and generates potential incremental revenue wherever possible.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles for delivery and pickup of packages on at least 15 routes per shift, working in a floating capacity.
- Provide coverage for open routes in the absence of the normally assigned courier.
- Act as a mentor to hourly employees, demonstrating strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and leadership behaviours.
- Promote sales and identify opportunities to generate incremental revenue.
- Follow all FedEx operational, safety, and regulatory requirements, including handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and training records.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous courier experience.
- Six (6)
months of training time required to learn or adjust to the job.
Technical Skill Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Completion and maintenance of all basic and recurrency training, including DG certification if required.
- Ability to obtain and retain FedEx DG Specialist certification.
- Positive understanding of FedEx products, services, and general operations.
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver cargo up to 150 lbs with suitable equipment.
- Knowledge of Canadian Customs regulations and familiarity with Federal Express operations is an asset.
- In Quebec, competency in both French and English.
