We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and hands-on JuniorController to join the team at Progressive Ford in Wallaceburg .
Reporting to the Group Controller, this role plays a keypart in the day-to-day accounting operations of the dealership while developingthe skills and experience required to grow into a Controller position. Thesuccessful candidate will work closely with dealership leadership and theaccounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, solid financialcontrols, and efficient dealership operations.
This position is based in Wallaceburg , withoccasional travel to our Sarnia dealerships for training, collaboration, andoperational support.

Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Maintainand reconcile the dealership general ledger
- Postnew and used vehicle deals accurately and on time
- Completemonthly bank reconciliations
- Assistwith month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparemonthly OEM financial statements
- Ensureaccounting policies, procedures, and internal controls are consistentlyfollowed
Accounts Payable
- Entervendor invoices and bills of sale
- Processaccounts payable payments and cheque runs
- Payand track recurring expenses including utilities, credit cards, and otheroperating expenses
Accounts Receivable
- Processcustomer payments and maintain accurate receivable records
- Issuemonthly customer statements
- Monitoroutstanding accounts and assist with collections as required
- Reconcilecustomer and manufacturer receivable accounts
Banking & Cash Management
- Processand reconcile EFTs, wire payments, and electronic deposits
- Assistwith dealership banking activities and cash controls
- Processlien payouts and OEM-related financial transactions
Operational Support
- Postdaily sales and service tills
- Ensuretimely and accurate posting of dealership transactions
- Supportmonth-end reporting and financial analysis
- Assistwith process improvements and special accounting projects
- Workcollaboratively with dealership leadership to support operationalperformance
- Providebackup support across accounting functions as required
Qualifications
- Accountingdiploma or degree preferred
- 1–3years of accounting experience preferred (automotive dealershipexperience is an asset)
- Strongunderstanding of accounting principles
- Experiencewith dealership management systems considered an advantage
- Excellentattention to detail and organizational skills
- Abilityto prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strongcommunication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Self-motivatedwith a desire to learn, take ownership, and grow within the organization
- CompensationRange: $45,000–$65,000 annually (based on experience)
