The Area Manager - Process Plant is responsible for integrating engineering, procurement, construction readiness, field execution, interfaces, and decision-making within the assigned area to deliver the work safely, in accordance with scope, quality, schedule, cost, and long-term operability requirements. Our client is a mining company with headquarters in Vancouver. With a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and sustainable project delivery, the company has major mining activities in the South-American region. Description Act as the owner's lead for a major process plant and associated site infrastructure scope, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Provide leadership on technical reviews, constructability assessments, operational readiness, and long-term asset performance considerations. Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders to manage project interfaces, execution priorities, risks, and critical decision-making requirements. Monitor contractor and EPCM performance, ensuring compliance with project objectives, contractual obligations, technical standards, and quality requirements. Oversee construction readiness activities, including engineering deliverables, field mobilization, permitting dependencies, materials management, and execution planning. Lead efforts related to schedule management, risk mitigation, cost awareness, issue resolution, and overall project execution effectiveness. Support commissioning, startup,
and operational handover activities to ensure the process plant is delivered safely and ready for sustained operations. Profile A successful Area Manager - Process Plant should have: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. Extensive experience between 15 - 25+ years leading large-scale mining, mineral processing, industrial, or infrastructure projects in owner, EPCM, EPC, or contractor environments. Strong background in process plant execution, project delivery, construction management, and operational readiness programs. Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, contractor interfaces, and multidisciplinary technical teams. Demonstrated experience supporting projects through engineering, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. Solid leadership, commercial acumen, risk management capabilities, and decision-making skills within complex project environments. Job Offer Competitive annual salary between $190,000 and $210,000 CAD. Annual bonus. RRSP company contribution.
