Make a difference as a Casual Access Support Worker in Truro. This relief position supports children and families requiring transportation for access visits and appointments.
As part of the Department of Opportunities and Social Development, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and care of children during family access visits. Your role includes providing transportation and support, working with Social Workers, and documenting key interactions. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide transportation to children and families for access visits
• Ensure basic childcare and safety during visits
• Support Social Workers by documenting interactions
• Communicate professionally with families and support networks
• Assist in the smooth operation of the Provincial Access Program
Requirements:
• Approved child & youth care worker diploma or two years’ experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to manage high-stress situations effectively
• Experience in social services or child welfare
• Strong communication skills for sensitive circumstances
