Join Ontario Shipyards as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in St. Catharines, ON. This full-time role focuses on maintaining diesel, gasoline, and propane-powered equipment in a marine environment.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be tasked with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of a diverse range of yard equipment and vessel systems. Experience in a rugged in office setting and strong diagnostic skills in engine management are essential. This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations
• Troubleshoot and repair compressors, forklifts, and cranes
• Service and maintain yard trucks for daily use




• Assist with mechanical issues on ships and tugboats
• Keep accurate inventory of mechanical storage areas
Requirements:
• Valid Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (421A) License preferred
• Clean driver's license required
• Ability to work in confined spaces and rugged conditions
• Strong background in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
