Become the key financial player for a seafood exporter in South Vancouver, BC as a Commercial Fisheries Settlement Accountant. Your role will focus on fisheries settlements, quota management, and liaising with fishermen.
This is a permanent full-time position where you'll manage settlements and ensure compliance with quotas and licensing. Oversee daily communications with fishermen while confirming fish ticket accuracy. Collaborate closely with the SVP of Operations and CFO to ensure the effectiveness of fisheries management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee fisheries settlement calculations and distribution
• Manage daily communications with fishermen about licenses
• Verify all fish ticket processing and species details
• Ensure timely submissions to DFO for quota licensing
• Share accounting insights with the CFO and finance team
Requirements:
• CPA designation or senior-level accounting experience
• 5+ years in fisheries or seafood industry
• Solid communication skills in English
• Detailed knowledge of quota management processes
• Willingness to travel to Port Edward for training
