Reporting to our Director of Human Resources, the PayrollSpecialist will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and administeringgroup benefits for all employees in a timely and accurate manner

KeyResponsibilities:

- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees ina timely and accurate manner
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepanciesand resolve issues
- Maintain employee records within Payworks
- Perform data entry tasks related to payrolladjustments, deductions, and benefits
- Process terminations and issue records ofemployment
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensureaccurate employee classifications and compliance with labor laws
- Process benefit enrollments, changes andterminations
- Claim Wage Enhancement Grants from theGovernment of Alberta




- Generate payroll reports for management reviewand audits
- Train employees and managers on how to usePayworks
- Assist employees with payroll-relatedinquiries and provide support as needed
- Preparing and processing T4, taxable advantages,garnishee, WCB and other year-end payroll tasks
- Stay updated on changes in payroll regulationsand best practices

Qualificationsand Educational Requirements:

- A PCPdesignation will be considered an asset
- 2+ yearsof payroll experience required
- Proficiencyin MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Payworks
- Strong analytical skills to assess dataaccuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Excellent data entry skills with a high levelof attention to detail
- Knowledge of human resources practices relatedto payroll processing
- Ability to work independently while managingmultiple tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills for interactionwith employees and management
