About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead a newly formed regional entity with a focus on championing regional competitiveness and advancing shared economic priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, government relations, and external engagement, as well as for shaping and executing a forward-looking regional agenda. This role involves significant travel and the flexibility to be based anywhere, with an expectation of spending a portion of the time in the region. The Executive Director will work closely with elected officials, Chief Administrative Officers, and municipal economic development teams to define the organization's mandate, establish its credibility, and build its presence and impact.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a proven track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders, including boards of directors, senior industry leaders, and community partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in economic development, land-use planning, or the public sector, and a background in the petroleum, agriculture, or forestry sectors is preferred. Key qualifications include strong relationship-building, project management, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex policy and regulatory environments. The role requires a high level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making. A post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is preferred, and a Project Management Skilled (PMP) designation or equivalent certification is an asset.
