The position is part of the Water Division, working on multi‑discipline design and construction projects for public and private sector clients in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas.

What You’ll Do

- Oversee the on‑site construction of various water engineering/energy/infrastructure projects in the GTA and GTHA
- Review technical solutions and implementations and execute associated construction contract documentation
- Engage in daily contract administration duties as well as site inspection duties to monitor and document Contractor progress, workmanship, and conformance with the contract documents
- Communicate regularly with the associated Engineering, client and contractor project teams
- Actively participate in project construction meetings
- Serve as Associated Engineering’s representative in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract
- Participate in opportunities for providing general design and project design including analysis, testing,



and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment plants and infrastructure
- Contribute to all phases of projects from proposal writing, preliminary and detailed design, construction administration support, and factory and site acceptance testing
- Engage in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices
- Comply and work within a COR certified workplace and perform all duties in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation

Does this sound like you?

- Undergraduate degree in Civil, Process, or Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Construction/Construction Management from an accredited institution
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with PEO or eligible for registration; or registered with designation(s) from OACETT, an asset
- Interest in pursuing a career in construction contract administration and on‑site construction inspection
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a construction site representative / contract administrator / construction/project management role
- 10+ years of progressive experience in water/wastewater treatment facility design and/or construction
- 10+ years of progressive experience with multi‑discipline design coordination and construction
- Experience with contract administration and on‑site inspection principles, practices, and techniques
- Experience working for a consulting engineering firm, construction firm, and/or a municipality, an asset
- Working knowledge of construction contract interpretation and construction acts, and experience monitoring and coordinating construction activities with the client, contractors, approvals bodies, and public as required
- Proof of experience in preparing contract administration paperwork including agendas, minutes, daily logs, photographic records, RFIs, testing reports, change orders, deficiency lists,



and construction payment certificates
- Familiarity with applicable local building/construction codes
- Experience with project scheduling software assessing construction progress compared to tendered schedule
- Working knowledge of construction products, materials, and equipment, and inspection and conformance of construction works with contract documents and engineering design
- Experience reviewing traffic management plans for conformance and implementation per Ontario Traffic Manual – Book 7
- Experience interpreting specifications, plans, and regulations
- Experience preparing engineering sketches, technical specifications, quantity take‑offs, and cost estimation
- Experience with start‑up and commissioning of mechanical/process systems, and post‑construction warranty services
- Experience with administration/management of projects involving reservoirs, soil management scopes, roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage structures
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for construction projects
- Ability to apply training and maintain valid construction safety certificates – working at heights, confined space, WHMIS, first aid, CPR level A, and/or AED training, an asset
- Proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel, and the latest version of AutoCAD
- Proven analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including use of email and videoconferencing technologies
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Committed team player
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time‑management skills
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within Ontario
