MacEwan University’s Triffo School of Business is recruiting a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Director of the Maria T. Schneider Social Innovation Institute. The appointment is fully tenured, full‑time, with a reduced teaching load, and commences January 1, 2027 (or close as agreed).
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a research program in social innovation, entrepreneurship, and Indigenous business, demonstrating original and creative scholarship.
- Direct the Maria T. Schneider Social Innovation Institute, managing students, research staff, fundraising, and the institute’s budget.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, support curriculum development, and contribute to university service.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to apply research findings and create social enterprises.
Qualifications
- A PhD in business, management, or a related field.
- Evidence of outstanding undergraduate teaching ability and a demonstrated commitment to student learning.
- An active, innovative research program in social innovation, entrepreneurship, social enterprises, or Indigenous business, with documented research productivity and impact.
- Eligibility for a Tier 2 CRC: no more than ten years from first independent academic appointment, or justifiable career breaks such as maternity, parental, or extended sick leave.
