Support Veterinary programs at the University of Guelph as a Colony Coordinator. This temporary full-time role focuses on laboratory assistance, colony animal management, and student supervision.
The Colony Coordinator position will be active from August 17, 2026, to February 26, 2027. You will oversee animal acquisition, assist in lab techniques, and ensure a safe learning setting for veterinary students. This role also involves managing inventory and collaborating with veterinary staff, enhancing skills in animal care and treatment during various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist instructors in veterinary programs and laboratories
• Supervise students to minimize academic misconduct
• Manage acquisition and care of colony animals




• Coordinate inventory control for supplies and equipment
• Provide on-call services as required
Requirements:
• 2-year Community College diploma; RVT Certification required
• 5 years’ experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician
• Ability to work independently and assist with anesthesia
• Proficiency in veterinary software and inventory management
• Equine and large animal experience is a plus
Engage in meaningful veterinary training and animal management at the University of Guelph.
